Director Vineeth Sreenivasan stated In an interview, that it was at first decided that the lead role would be played by himself. once he mentioned the story with Nivin Pauly the latter known to him and asked for the lead role unless he does not wish to change the initial plans. when a crew discussion, the role was finalized to Nivin Pauly.

Jacobinte Swargarajyam is said to be a movie that depicts the linked relationship of Modern kids with their Parents and family. The shooting location includes Sharjah Indian college. Nivin was introduced to films by Vineeth Sreenivasan through his directorial debut Malarvadi Arts Club.
